The short version
This is a children's reading site, so we collect as close to nothing as we can. Kids never make accounts, never enter personal information, and can never talk to strangers here โ there is no chat, no comments, no sharing between families, and no advertising trackers.
What we store, and why
- A grown-up's email address โ only if a parent creates a free account (used to sign in by emailed link, and to prove ownership for account changes).
- Reader profiles โ a made-up dragon name, a color, and a pattern. We ask that these are never a child's real name, and we never request a child's age, photo, school, or location.
- Reading progress โ which page a reader is on, and how their Read & Roll quests are going (so a parent can see it, and so nothing a child earns is ever lost).
Without an account, all of this stays only in your browser on your own device โ it never reaches our servers.
What we never do
- No selling or sharing of personal information โ ever, to anyone.
- No third-party advertising or ad trackers.
- No child-to-child features, public profiles, or leaderboards.
- No microphone, camera, or location access.
- No emails to children. Any email we ever send goes to the grown-up's address, at the grown-up's request.
Who holds the data
Accounts and progress live with Supabase (our database provider); the website and its files are served by Cloudflare. Both act only on our instructions. Purchases made through outside stores (Amazon, our direct shop) happen on those stores' own sites under their own policies โ we never see your payment details.
Deleting everything
A parent can delete the whole family account โ every reader, bookmark, and treasure โ from the Grown-Up Den. For safety, deletion only completes from a confirmation link we email to the account address, so only the email's owner can do it. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
Children's privacy (COPPA)
This site is designed for children to use but not to be collected from. Accounts belong to parents; the only child-related data is the made-up profile and reading progress a parent chooses to keep. If you believe a child has somehow provided personal information, write to us and we will delete it promptly.
